Yummy, Yummy Food

Early Literacy Tip – Playing with your child is one of the best things you can do to help your child learn. Pretend play is especially valuable to learning. There is “research that shows children who are encouraged in imaginative play prove to be more creative a few years later, have a richer vocabulary, are less impulsive and aggressive and often become leaders with their playmates.” (http://family.go.com/parenting/pkg-school-age/article-795610-the-importance-of-pretend-play-t/) So, if you pretend to have a picnic, or a tea party or play in a pretend kitchen you are doing something very special for your child.
